    It's a real number but doesn't directly connect to a fixed landline. A virtual phone number is a cloud-based service that allows you to choose a number for any geographic location in the UK.

    OFCOM have stated that number portability agreements should exist to allow end users the right to move between suppliers. There are many and various reasons why you may choose to leave your current supplier, pricing increases or bad service are the most notorious.
